9 to 5

when I travel, I can blend in in about 60 percent of the world. I have that look that can just quite pass for a fit almost anywhere, for the most part. of course, for this summer, I had to pick the one place where I stick out like a sore thumb. A very brown one, at that.

I like the metro, and I really wish that LA and san diego had comparable ones. I like being able to walk around downtown by myself, too. it's changed so much. I work, however, in the middle of a bunch of pre-war buildings, and it takes me back to the first time I was here. this entire experience is definitely a little piece of real life. it's a taste of the real world, doing everything on my own. it's certainly nice, but I'm not sure I'm ready for a full helping just yet. this is a nice little temporary sojourn into responsibility.

I love it at miller canfield. I think I'm sitting in the place where I could live out my dream career. the work is honestly fascinating. I can't wait to go back tomorrow. it's almost like my chance to prove myself, to make a name for myself in this realm, at least.

some of the men here are gorgeous. like, you can't stop looking over at them, if I saw them while I was driving I'd get into an accident gorgeous. god, it's almost painful. it's a new kind of gorgeous, too, the tall, dark hair, blue eyed, five o'clock shadow, I'm a man gorgeous, nothing like the sunshined san diego blonde boys I'm used to. *sigh*. why can't these men exist in a world where I can speak to them?

the polish women are absolutely fierce. they are very independent. they're the type who will beat a man who gives them lip over the head with whatever they have handy, be it purse or frying pan. they are a force to be reckoned with.
